Danner Light Boots

When packing super light for a moto trip like this, there is no room for superfluous gear. When it came down to footwear we needed to pick a boot that would be our everything. Tough enough to wear on the bikes and light enough to hike in and wear daily. Not to mention waterproof.

Being from Portland, Danner Boots was heavy on our radar. They have been handcrafting boots there since the 1930’s and have an incredible reputation for boots that last. While they began in the logging industry, over the years they've expanded their line to cover everything from work boots to hiking boots.

After trying on a few different pairs we both landed on the Danner Lights. They had all the ingredients we were looking for and looked great. Tough construction, ready for all the elements and still light enough to not feel like a burden on our feet.

Once out on the road and kicking the stuffing out of them, they proved our decision right. They worked great on the bikes with good sole support and a slim toe area for easy shifting. The Gore-Tex liners kept our feet dry and with the combination of gators on rainy moto days we rarely had wet feet. Once the boots broke in they felt like a shoe making full days off the bike very comfortable and they offered great support for hiking.

Like all USA made Danner boots, the Danner Lights can be reconstructed at the Portland factory to ensure many happy years in the outdoors.
